Agency of Fear - Cut content

Agency of Fear had a pretty long time of development, and as any game, it has cut content and lost media. If anyone still has the files to previous demos, they can probably still find some of this content, as not everything that wasn't needed had been removed from them, but the final game doesn't really have any unused files in it. Alright, so let's go. First off, Agency of Fear was never meant to have office parts with cameras and flashlights and all that. There should've been parts where the enemies were supposed to chase you, but we decided the interiors were too small and unfitting for such things. Now, from the beginning, we planned for the game to have multiple endings and there should've been so many variations to how the game ended. We decided to scrap this, as our ideas would change the story and we wanted to make a DLC that involved a continuation to the story, but as of now, we're still thinking of this. Before scrapping the endings, one ending would ...

Middle of November, not much activity. What's going on?

Recently, we've been working on more and more concepts, most of them don't really turn into anything. Something we're working on right now and can confirm as an upcoming project is DYNAMICA 25, which will be the best DYNAMICA improvement to ever release since the first game launched. We're heavily modifying the game, making it as enjoyable as possible and adding lots of new features. We've also released an improved version of an old game of ours, The Basement, which includes AI enhanced textures and optimal resolution support. Other than that, fear not, Futuresoft has not fell! It never will, we may take pause from developing to focus on other things, but we will never die, we will always return. It's mid-november, a rainy and ugly month. Projects as big as Agency of Fear will not release at all in 2025, small chances in 2026 as well. Agency of Fear will remain our biggest project for a long time. Maybe forever? If only there was enough free time for us, we wou...

Agency of Fear - Making Of + What is next?

Agency of Fear is Futuresoft's biggest project since it was founded in 2020. Unreal Engine was a new engine for us and we learned it throughout the development of Agency of Fear, and we are working on many other Unreal Engine 4/5 projects, but as usual, we're not sure all of them will release, some are concrete ideas and others are simple prototypes. Normally, during a game's development, each thing you add takes time and it isn't easy, but we would like to say a couple of things. The easiest thing to develop in Agency of Fear was the map , but it took 80% of the whole game's development. Good maps, bad maps, removed parts, added parts, concepts, ideas, etc. It took the most time as for maybe every videogame ever with multiple maps. So in conclusion, the maps weren't hard to make, but it took very long, considering we didn't want a short game. The hardest thing to develop in Agency of Fear is related to scripting, and it was the save system , there were...

Agency of Fear is delayed

I know you guys waited 2 years for Agency of Fear and probably expected to play it yesterday. Unfortunately, we are delaying the release until August 30th. We are dealing with some packaging issues, but we promise we will fix this until August 30th. https://futuresoft.itch.io/agency-of-fear

New batch game announcement

For our 3rd anniversary on December 27, we will be releasing a text-adventure game, to honor that we started with text-adventure games. We will not reveal any information regarding the game, but it is not Survivor or Savage Blast. It's something new, but extremely similar. It's a completely new and long lore that will be used in other upcoming games which might also have different games, but it's a sequel to all games with Ken Newman a.k.a the Survivor Universe.

Redoing Survivor 3D

We've thought of this idea for a while. We're gonna be redoing Survivor 3D. To be clear, we're not gonna be making an ultra HD 4K remake of it in Unreal Engine 5. We're gonna stick to the same engine, but we'll add a lot more detail. This will include extra decals, extra props, voicelines, etc. See you soon.

Bad news regarding the fees of Unity

For those of you who don't know, although I bet most game developers know, Unity will start charging each Unity developer 0.20$ for each install of one of their games. Basically, if someone installs Music Address, we would get charged 0.20$. That's why, to prevent any charges, we have unfortunately removed all our Unity games from itch.io. These include Far Sky Alpha 1, Far Sky Alpha 2, Music Address, and Man Fear: Vientor.  I'm glad Unreal is my main option for making games.

One Year of Agency of Fear 🎉

One year ago today, the demo for Agency of Fear was published. It's hard to believe that the game is a year old. To celebrate this, we're gonna give you a sneak peek of what you didn't know the game has. Agency of Fear has puzzles, like rotating circles on a wall to match a pattern and open a door. The chapters already reached the point where you realize the game is open world. The chapter we're currently working on is called Sewers. The game won't contain saving, all chapters will be unlocked at the start (unconfirmed). The start of the game has a cutscene with a mysterious man giving you a document related to your trip to the office.

About the first ever lost version of Biowar 4.

So I was navigating around the internet these days, and I found some pictures with content of Biowar 4. The first one is, I believe, the second level, if you don't include the prologue, and it was called Tarmesia Valley, because I drew a map of what the island Biowar 4 was happening on. It was a few countries, Tarmesia was a city in the country of Coldeaun. I will show you the text document with the levels that were supposed to be in the game. Maps were really large, that's why I am sad about the files being lost. The player start is in the up-left corner and the level ends down right there at that dam. Here's the picture. I made the whole Biowar 4 map using paint, but it wasn't exact, there were just countries. I was lazy to draw the whole city of the first levels, and the Tarmesia Valley. Anyways, here's each lost level, and I'm gonna be describing, from my memory, how they looked. --- Prologue (Citadel of Supertron, Monverha, Nizeria) It was nothing special, ...

STUFF IS GREAT 😃

Seriously, Futuresoft right now is going so well. Recently, a lot of people suddenly started downloading my games. Ancient Brute Souls will release very soon too, as it only requires play testing which will be done in a few days by a friend of mine. I personally have tested the game, but I want to know how much exactly it would take for a new player to finish it, and how they would play it.  I am also developing a new 3D FPS game, but no name shall be specified. I've also been working from time to time on a C++ 3D game engine, which was my forever dream project. I was just imagining a game engine of mine, and, hopefully, it will be finished one day.   Agency of Fear ... oh boy. It will be released in 2024, although I feel like it won't be enough time and it will have many glitches. I have lost all passion on the game, and whenever I open up Unreal Engine, it just feels like super hard work making the maps, and not only. It is a pain making the maps, because it takes a ...

Biowar 4 files have been lost AGAIN...

Yes. What the title says. The files have been lost AGAIN. The game might be cancelled, we don't have any plans regarding Biowar 4. This version, we've been working on it since January 2023 and the files have been lost in July 2023. Here's what it contained. This is the description: "Biowar IV is a sequel to the last game, where the time machine transported you to an unknown time, and you must collect 4 elements to power up Futuretek's timeline machine, then travel to a different timeline." Not much to say about the levels since the order was unknown yet, but here they are and you can only guess what they contained by reading their names. 1) Underground Bunker 2) Green Fog Forest 3) Desert River 4) Cinema 5) Volcano 6) Others... The game has not been finished, but here's a little secret: The ending part of Desert River was a very small Rome-looking town, so we had the idea to make a 3D RPG game with the location being a Rome-looking town, and we named it An...

NO IDEAS AND NO CREATIVITY

I am missing ideas and my creativity's going down. I need a break. I am most of the time from Monday to Friday, and even sometimes Saturday and Sunday. I need about 2 weeks to think about a game, and I have a few ideas, but I just don't know when to start, because they'll most probably be cancelled. I mostly need ideas to make games, and Agency of Fear hasn't been in development since August 2022, and it's November 1st. If I'm busy, I have no creativity. I'm thinking about starting a new studio, or having as property someone else's studio's games.

LOOKING FOR COLLLABORATION

Anyone looking to make a collaboration with an existing game? Something like adding features from a game to the other one? Or secrets. Contact "sfarasteven@gmail.com". Accepting only one. Post will be deleted after receiving a good offer.  Good day.

NERO ENGINE MIGHT BE CANCELLED

Yes, as the title says. It might be cancelled. Making a 3D engine is hard, even-semi, even a doom-looking one, it's hard. I encounter bugs, I fix them, I continue on developing it, I encounter bugs, I fix them, and it goes on like that. I'm not gonna pass this project to anyone.  Have a good day.

RESUMED DEVELOPMENT FOR AGENCY OF FEAR

It's been lazy times by now, but I decided and I remembered that I have to put that hard work into Agency of Fear to make it a good game.   One thing is clear though, it won't release this summer. I'm fixing every bug, adding new features, more gameplay, etc. The game will have multiplayer, and I don't know if it should've gotten to the point where I'm afraid to release this game. But I should worry about that in a few months.  With the multiplayer, I added a playermodel, because otherwise, players will be invisible and that kind of sucks.  Just remember one small thing: I added CD cases with games around the office with the covers of my games and one other game for my special guest. You have to guess it.  I hope you are all good.
